About SBV

SBV Event & Travel Consultancy (SBV) is a Professional Worldwide Venue Sourcing & Event Management Company, specializing in site selection and contract negotiation for any type of Conference, Meeting, Incentive or Special event.

Following more than 10 years in Luxury & Upper luxury hotels, Boris Vrnoga founded SBV to share his ideas, experiences and Worldwide network in the hospitality industry.

In May 2015 Menno joined the company as co-owner and director. Having spent nearly 10 years in the hotel industry bringing a wealth of knowledge and a large national and international network to SBV.

At SBV the aim is to offer clients the highest level of flexibility and work with them anywhere in the world for any type of Group, Conference, Meeting, Incentive or Special event.

Team

Boris Vrnoga
Founder & Director

Background

Boris spend many years across the globe working both with 4star as well as 5 star deluxe hotels.

His career started in The Netherlands where he, after successfully graduating, joined the prestigious Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, home to the Dutch Football Team. At the family owned and managed 5 star deluxe hotel, he worked with major International companies for their conferences, incentives and meetings.

Following 5 successful years at the Beach of Amsterdam, Boris then moved across the ocean to join Great Hotels Organisation (GHO). At GHO's London based head office, Boris successfully launched the GHO Global Groups Sales Department. In the 3 years with GHO, relationships were established with all major corporate clients from all Europe as well as further afield.

In 2008, Boris joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide where he looked after the 4 ultra-luxury hotels in Sardinia's Costa Smeralda. He worked alongside various International corporate clients for their Product Launches, Board of Directors' Meetings and Company Incentives as well as numerous private clients.

In 2011, Boris joined an event agency as a Co – Director, getting his first experience of operating and managing his own company. In April 2012 he realizes his dream and long term ambition to set up his own company and SBV Event & Travel Consultancy became reality!

Menno Schifferstein
Director

Menno joined SBV in May 2015, coming on board as Co – Owner / Director to expand the business of SBV Event & Travel Consultancy.

Background

Having studied and graduated a management degree at the Hospitality Management school in The Netherlands, he then knew that sales, networking and connecting people was his strength and passion.

After finishing his degree, he then started at the Hotels van Oranje, the largest privately owned 5 star hotel in Noordwijk aan Zee (Beach of Amsterdam). In the 6 successful years with the Hotels van Oranje, as International Sales Manager, he looked after all major International Conferences that took place in the hotel (main client focus United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and USA).

In 2013, he was then approached to join the new Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, one of Amsterdam's finest new landmark 5 star luxury hotels.

During his time at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam he was part of the pre opening team and successfully positioned the hotel as Amsterdams' leading luxury hotel, overseeing Groups, Consortia, Corporate & FIT Sales.

In his role as Sales Director, he was the primary contact for Corporate event planners, looking to organize a worldwide board meeting, senior management company incentive or high end product launch. On top of the above he also welcomed International delegations like the Royal Family of the UAE and embassies at the hotel.

VALENTINE SAARLOOS
CLIENT COÖRDINATOR

Background

Both fluent in Dutch and French, Valentine joined the SBV team since August 2016 as Client Coördinator. While she is finishing her studies in Human Resource Management, Valentine has already had her share of work experience.

Having worked in various restaurants and hotels in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam, here is where Valentine realized she loves to connect with people. This was noticeably noticed and resulted in Valentine accepting an exciting role as PA for the CFO of well known Dutch fashion brand – Scotch & Soda

In addition to assisting the CFO, she combined her role with assisting the French Customer Service Wholesale Department.

In her role, Valentine will assist both company Directors to maintain the high level of service both towards clients as well as hotels and other partners.

Valentine loves working with people and more so with different nationalities. With her excellent communication skills and can do mentality she enjoys nothing more to assist clients and help them with any new enquiry or challenge them might have.

Her passion for travelling and has brought already to many places of the World, needless to say she can't wait to see many more in her (new) role as Client Coördinator at SBV Event & Travel Consultancy

Worldwide Venue Sourcing

Finding the right hotel within your budget is often a very time consuming part of the actual booking process, especially when multiple destinations are involved. A process that you, the client, not always have the time for.

Sourcing the right hotel or venue is our expertise so please let us take over this time consuming role!

We will of course first discuss your brief together in detail. What then follows is an overview of relevant venues to be approached for your request. SBV has excellent contacts with all major hotel groups Worldwide as well as with many of the hidden gems that independent hotels often are.

Our contacts, often with senior members within a hotel sales team or hotel group, as well as our knowledge of hotel revenue management processes around the globe enables us to negotiate best rates in a very efficient and professional way.

We aim to have all offers to you in the same format within 48hrs of receiving your initial request.

Presenting all venues or hotels in one and the same format will make it very easy for you, the client, to compare rates for the various hotels or destinations you are considering for your upcoming event.

SBV has sourced hotels and venues for any type of event being it a Worldwide Conference, Exclusive Management Meeting or Unique Annual Sales Incentive.

We source and book events on behalf of our clients on a daily basis in major European cities for audiences as small as 4 to 500+, however are also very comfortable and experienced in finding the right venue in more far flung destinations such as New York, Sao Paulo, Cape Town and Puerto Rico to name a few.
